Overview
Safe Shores ("the App") is a free, open-source beach safety information tool for Puerto Rico. The App is developed by Luis Rodriguez and is not affiliated with any government agency.
Data We Collect
We do not collect, store, or transmit any personal data.
- No account or registration required
- No cookies used for tracking
- No analytics or advertising SDKs
- No personal information is stored on our servers
Location Data
If you grant location permission, the App uses your device's GPS solely to show your nearest beach. This data is processed entirely on your device and is never sent to our servers or any third party. You can deny location access and the App will function normally without it.
Third-Party Services
The App fetches publicly available data from:
- National Weather Service (NWS) — weather alerts for Puerto Rico
- NOAA CO-OPS — tide predictions
- National Data Buoy Center (NDBC) — wave and weather observations
These are U.S. government APIs. Their privacy policies are governed by NOAA. We do not share any user data with these services.
Hosting
The App is hosted on Vercel. Vercel may collect standard web server logs (IP address, browser type, timestamps) as part of normal infrastructure operations. See Vercel's Privacy Policy for details.
Children's Privacy
The App does not collect any data from anyone, including children under 13. No registration or personal information is required to use the App.
